Hamas has released two elderly Israeli hostages, Nurit Yitzhak and Yochved Lifshitz, following negotiations with Qatar and Egypt. The women, in their 80s, were kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Oz, with their husbands still in captivity under Hamas. The terrorist group cited “compelling humanitarian” reasons for their release, despite ongoing tensions with Israel. Additional reports suggest that around 50 more hostages with dual citizenship may also be released to the Red Cross. Israel has yet to comment on these developments, with concerns that Hamas may be using such releases for propaganda purposes or as a bargaining chip in broader negotiations.
