Missouri’s Wentzville School District is being sued by Attorney General Andrew Bailey (R) for hiding the district’s controversial transgender bathroom policy from parents. The school district has also been accused of holding private meetings to discuss such policies without parents’ knowledge to avoid input and opposition from parents. Two school board members came forward as whistleblowers which prompted multiple complaints to be filed with Bailey’s office. The school board meetings held behind closed doors to deliberate these policies are “in direct violation of Missouri’s Open Meetings Law,” according to Bailey’s office. Bailey is suing for each knowing violation of the state’s transparency laws and for each purposeful violation. Bailey said, “Missourians do not co-parent with the government.”
