Fighting is ongoing in southern Israel after Hamas forces staged a rocket attack followed by a ground invasion early Saturday. An estimated 200 Israelis have been killed and another 1,100 have been injured. There are reports of Hamas taking Israelis hostage and taking the prisoners back to the Gaza Strip. Battles are ongoing in 22 different locations in southern Israel according to IDF spokesman Brig.-Gen. Daniel Hagari. U.S. House and Senate GOP members have blasted the Biden administration for unfreezing $6 billion in Iranian assets weeks ago. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said of Israel just days ago that “the usurper regime is coming to an end.” Hamas is an Iranian proxy. Muhammad Deif, commander of the Hamas military branch said, “our military operatives will make the enemy understand that its time has passed.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Israeli’s response “Operation Swords of Iron” and declared a state of war with Hamas. Some have noted that in parallel to todays attack, 50 years ago, on Saturday, Oct. 6, 1973, the first Sabbath of October, a coalition of Arab states staged a surprise attack on Israel and became known as the Yom Kippur War.
