The Biden administration seeks to force what the left calls ‘inclusive vocabulary’ in the workplace through the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The EEOC plans to utilize federal law to prevent employers from denying the validity of self-identified gender, as reported by the Daily Signal. This proposed rule, grounded in the Supreme Court’s Bostock v. Clayton County decision, defines sex-based harassment to include sexual orientation and gender identity. It encompasses actions like misgendering, epithets, and denial of access to gender-appropriate facilities. Additionally, the rule addresses religiously motivated harassment but notes that employers should act against it before it creates a hostile work environment. Despite this move, a majority of voters disagree with making incorrect pronoun use illegal, and federal courts have previously protected employees’ freedom of speech regarding such matters.
