Planned Parenthood Offering Abortions Again In Wisconsin for First Time Since Roe V. Wade Overturned

Planned Parenthood began offering abortions again in the state of Wisconsin on Monday, the first time since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June of 2022.  Providers throughout the state halted services following the Supreme Court’s decision for fear of violating an 1849 state law that appears to ban the procedure. However, a judge ruled last month that the law doesn’t apply to medical abortions.  One Planned Parenthood facility said that after announcing their reopening, Monday’s appointments were completely booked within 24 hours. Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) praised the fact that Planned Parenthood began operating again.
