On Tuesday House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) issued six subpoenas to the DHS and the Secret Service following actions by the DHS to block the Secret Service from relaying information to House investigators concerning the Biden administration’s “coverup” of the Hunter Biden tax probe.  Through the testimony of FBI and IRS whistleblowers, House Republicans learned that the Secret Service and the Biden transition team were tipped off about a planned interview with Hunter Biden during U.S. Attorney for Delaware David Weiss’ investigation of Hunter. Comer said in a statement, “The Department of Justice initiated the Biden family coverup and now DHS under the leadership of Secretary Mayorkas is complicit in it.”  In June, House investigators demanded Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle require all employees involved in the tip-off be available for a transcribed interview, however, DHS blocked the Secret Service from complying.
