Tropical Storm Lee has formed halfway between Africa and the Lesser Antilles and is expected to be a major hurricane by this weekend, possibly even a category 4 hurricane with potential sustained winds greater than 130mph. Lee is the 13th named storm of the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season and is forecasted to travel west-northwest during the next few days with some models showing it coming close to San Juan, Puerto Rico. Meteorologists say that a high pressure system over Bermuda and the Azores will determine if the storm curves into the central Atlantic, not affecting the U.S. mainland, or if it steers the storm westward, potentially hitting the U.S. East Coast later next week.
