Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has requested a trial date on March 4, 2024, for former President Donald Trump and 18 co-conspirators in the Georgia general elections case, in which she plans to try all 19 defendants together.  The requested trial date is the day before Super Tuesday, March 5, 2024, when several states will hold primary elections.  Even though Democrats had pushed for an earlier date, Georgia’s primary is March 12, 2024, set by Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R).  President Trump is also facing trial dates in January, March, and August of 2024 in D.C., New York, and Florida respectively.  Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz contends that the Georgia indictments, as well as the others, are designed to get quick convictions that will fall apart on appeal.
