Bud Light Slips to Fourth Place in Bars and Restaurants

Objectivity 4.5 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.8

According to a study by hospitality data firm Union, Bud Light fell from first place at restaurants and bars to fourth place behind Miller Lite, Michelob Ultra, and Coors Light. This decline was attributed to a 34% drop in sales at high-volume bars and restaurants after Bud Light decided to partner with a Transgender for an advertisement campaign. Miller Lite, owned by Molson Coors, saw a significant 20.7% increase in sales, securing the top spot. Michelob Ultra took second place with a 3.6% sales increase, and Coors Light came in third with a 19.4% jump in sales. Other brands like Guinness and Modelo Especial are also threatening Bud Light’s market share. Additionally, retail sales data shows that Modelo and Yuengling have been gaining ground on Bud Light.
