Disney is considering selling a portion of its ownership in various TV networks, including ESPN, ABC, FX, National Geographic, and Freeform, due to mounting financial losses. CEO Bob Iger stated that the company is searching for new partners to invest in these networks which may not align with Disney’s core interests. Iger acknowledged that some of the financial challenges were self-inflicted and expressed surprise at the extent of disruption in the traditional TV business. Disney has already held meetings with potential investors to alleviate its financial exposure. Additionally, Disney’s Disney+ streaming service has been experiencing ongoing failures, falling short of expectations.
