Pizza Protest: Artist Throws Pizza at New York City Hall

Objectivity 4.1 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.6

In response to New York’s Department of Environmental Protection’s new regulations to cut emissions, which will impact wood-fired pizzerias, artist Scott LoBaido protested by throwing pizza slices at City Hall. He chanted, “Give us pizza or give us death!” LoBaido also voiced concerns about public indecency at Pride parades, the treatment of illegal immigrants compared to homeless veterans, teachers, and first responders, and the high crime rate in New York. A YouTube commenter highlighted the disparity between the swift response by police to the pizza incident and the lack of police presence during assaults on the subway.
