NHL Ends LGBTQ Pride Jersey Tradition During Pride Nights

Objectivity 4.5 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.6

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman announced that teams will no longer wear themed jerseys for warm-ups during Pride Nights. Bettman stated that changing jerseys had become a distraction and took away from the focus on the various causes and groups that the teams supported. He acknowledged concerns about the timing, as this decision coincides with Pride Month, but emphasized the importance of keeping the attention on the game and the causes being honored. Bettman assured Pride nights and other specialty nights would continue in the future, with the only change being the elimination of jersey changes for warm-ups.
