Former CIA Agent Promoted to Meta’s “Head of Elections” from “Misinformation” Team

Objectivity 4.0 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.5

Former CIA agent Aaron Berman has been promoted to “Head of Elections Policies” at Meta, Facebook’s parent company.  Berman formerly held a senior position in Facebook’s “misinformation” team during the 2020 presidential election.  During his service at the CIA from March 2002 to July 2019, Berman wrote for and edited the President’s Daily Brief, a top-secret document given to the president each morning by the intelligence community.  Berman left the agency after 17 years to join Facebook in 2019 where he says he “built the misinformation policy team’s US workforce and put policies into practice during critical events.” Although he doesn’t describe what these “critical events” were, Berman’s time in Facebook’s “misinformation” department coincides with the time leading up to the 2020 election when social media platforms censored leading Republican voices and conservative news sites with the guidance of deep state-linked entities, namely Facebook.
