Ukraine struck one of the few bridges that link Crimea with the Ukrainian mainland, cutting one of the main supply routes for Russian forces in southern Ukraine. Vladimir Saldo, the head of the Russian-installed administration in occupied parts of Ukraine, vowed to repair the bridge and threatened to retaliate. “A very serious response is coming very soon,” Saldo said. Russia’s RIA news agency quoted Russian officials saying that repairs could take weeks. Yuriy Sobolevsky, a Ukrainian official said, “The psychological impact on the occupiers and the occupying power is even more important. There is no place on the territory of Kherson region where they can feel safe.”
