Russia is accusing Ukraine of killing civilians reeling from flooding caused by the Kokhovka dam collapse. The Kremlin says that Ukrainian forces are shelling the affected areas on the east side of the River Dnipro even as rescue workers attempt to help those affected. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, “All the work is taking place under the shelling of the Ukrainian armed forces. This shelling does not stop. This is more than barbaric shelling. As a result of this shelling there are dead among the flood victims, there was even a pregnant woman.” Ukraine has not yet commented on Russia’s accusations. Both Russia and Ukraine blame the other for the destruction of the dam.
