Chick-Fil-A Hired VP of ‘Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion,’ Conservatives Call for Boycott

Objectivity 4.8 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.6

This week after it was revealed that Chick-fil-A  had a vice president of DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), Erick McReynolds, some conservatives are suggesting a boycott. DEI is a set of principles adopted by some large corporations, government agencies, and schools which are incorporated into work environments, often requiring employees to receive such training.  Prominent critics like Christopher Rufo and James Lindsay say that DEI principles are rooted in Marxism and are pathways for “left-wing racialist ideology and partisan political activism.”  Lindsay, who agrees with the boycott calls, said, “We must demand that Chick-fil-A fire their entire ESG and Sustainability staff and partners (including DEI), referring to the left-wing environmental, social, and governance framework.”
