Sudanese WHO Representative Warns Of “Extremely Dangerous” Biological Hazard After Seizure of Lab Samples

World Health Organization (WHO) representative in Sudan Dr. Nima Saeed Abid on Tuesday warned of a “high risk of biological hazard” after samples of measles and polio were seized by one of the sides fighting in the Sudanese conflict.  In a video addressing reporters in Geneva, Switzerland, Abid warned of an “extremely, extremely dangerous” situation.  As reported by Agence France-Presse, Abid said, “There is a huge biological risk associated with the occupation of the central public health lab… by one of the fighting parties.”
