Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has signed a bill banning most abortions after six weeks. The state’s current 15-week limit on abortion is one of the most lenient, with many traveling to Florida to have the procedure. The six-week ban makes exceptions for abortions in cases of rape or incest, if documented proof can be provided such as a police report or a restraining order. “We are proud to support life and family in the state of Florida,” the governor said. He stated the law would “defend the dignity of human life and transform Florida into a pro-family state.”
