Trump Suing Michael Cohen for $500 Million

Objectivity 4.8 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.7

On Wednesday former President Donald Trump filed a civil complaint against Michael Cohen, his former lawyer, for damages of more than $500 million that resulted from an alleged breach of attorney-client duties by Cohen, according to The Epoch Times.  The lawsuit alleges Cohen’s conduct consisted of “multiple breaches of fiduciary duty, unjust enrichment, conversion, and breaches of contract” and “spreading falsehoods” about Trump that would be “embarrassing or detrimental.”  This civil lawsuit has no legal relationship to the recent criminal charges against Trump by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, however Cohen’s public statements about Bragg’s case are being cited as supporting facts in the complaint.  Trump spokesperson wrote in a statement that Michael Cohen, a convicted felon, has admitted to “many wrongdoings” in his books and “constant media appearances.”
