Ban On Scottish Gender Reforms To Be Challenged In Court

Objectivity 4.8 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.8

The Scottish government is about to launch a legal challenge against Westminster’s block of its disputed gender reforms.  However, they were blocked by the U.K. government over their hotly debated potential impact on U.K.-wide equality laws.  The move was previously stated as an “undemocratic veto” by First Minister Humza Yousaf.  The proposition, which would allow people in Scotland to self-identify their sex, was approved by the Scottish Parliament in December of last year.
