Trump attorney Jim Trusty said the former president’s legal team is focusing on a motions to dismiss the indictment charges by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Trusty said, “I think the motions to dismiss have to be a priority because they amputate this miscarriage of justice early on.” Trump faced 34 felony counts of falsifying business records at his arraignment in Manhattan last Tuesday. His next hearing is scheduled for December 4, 2023. Trump lawyer Joe Tacopina called the unsealed indictment “very vanilla” and said it “did not list the underlying crimes he allegedly intended to cover up with false business records.” He added the charges are “misdemeanor counts†for which “the statute of limitations is long gone.â€
