Israeli airstrikes hit targets in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip after rocket attacks from both areas were aimed at Israel.  In Lebanon, from which almost 3 dozen rockets were launched, infrastructure including a bridge, a power transformer and an irrigation system were reportedly destroyed. Reports claim a herd of sheep were killed near a Palestinian refugee camp. In Gaza, the Israeli military said underground tunnels and weapons factories belonging to Hamas were destroyed. In addition to the rocket attacks and the Israeli response, a Palestinian gunman shot and killed two sisters in their 20s and seriously wounded their mother at the Israeli settlement Efrat near the Jordan Valley.
