Indiana is being sued by the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) and the ACLU of Indiana over bill SB 480 that passed banning gender-affirming care for minors. The ACLU filed lawsuit alleging that the bill is unconstitutional in that it violates the Equal Protection Clause and the Fourteenth Amendment.  Regarding the bill, Gov. Holcomb (R) said in a statement, “Permanent gender-changing surgeries with lifelong impacts and medically prescribed preparation for such a transition should occur as an adult, not as a minor.”  The ACLU plans to further challenge other states that have passed similar laws.
