Objectivity 4.8 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.6

Romania’s navy is leading a NATO military exercise in the Black Sea known as Sea Shield 2023 which includes 12 NATO nations and involves 30 naval ships, 14 aircraft and 15 “fast intervention” boats and patrol vessels. The exercise, which started March 20 and lasts until April 2, simulates an enemy air landing along a coastal waterway and how NATO forces would neutralize such an incursion. Since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war, NATO has deployed several battlegroups to the region to reinforce NATO members Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovakia.
