On Thursday former President Donald Trump was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury over payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels during the end of his 2016 presidential campaign.  This is the first-ever criminal case brought against a former U.S. president.  The sealed indictment was filed Thursday evening with the Manhattan Supreme Court clerk’s office but the specific charges were not made public.  Sources told The Post there are over two dozen charges related to business fraud connected to Trump.  Following a five-year investigation of Trump’s business dealings by Manhattan’s District Attorney’s Office, this unprecedented indictment comes as Trump seeks the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.  Trump said on Tuesday, “This is Political Persecution and Election Interference at the highest level in history.”
