Cornerstone Church of Caledonia, the largest Methodist congregation in Michigan, left the denomination to become a nondenominational congregation. Meanwhile, other churches such as Covenant United Methodist Church of Dothan, and South Carolina’s largest Methodist congregation have also left the denomination. Churches are leaving the main denomination after the United Methodist Church has become more accepting of the LGBTQ lifestyle.
