A Russian Su-35 “Flanker” fighter intercepted an American B-52 bomber over the Baltic Sea, less than a week after Russian fighters forced down an American drone over the Black Sea, claiming that it had flown close to Russian airspace. The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the bomber was approaching Russian airspace and was escorted until it reached Estonian airspace. The Polish Ministry of Defense said that the bomber had been escorted by Polish F-16 fighters at one point.
