New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) recently hosted a drag queen story hour that was “family friendly” in NYC at The Center, an LGBTQ community center. James held the event to “condemn hate and combat rampant disinformation.” She said, “Hate has no home in New York, and I will always fight to ensure our LGBTQ+ siblings’ rights are upheld and defended.” Serious criticism for James and the event has come through social media, as well as protestors who gathered outside the building. Author Ashley St. Clair tweeted, “The ‘family-friendly’ event will take place at the ‘Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.’ Your tax dollars are hard at work grooming kids!”
