House GOP Demands WH Briefing On Russia Helping China Develop Nuclear Weapons

House GOP members are demanding a briefing from the Biden Administration on Russia assisting China expand its nuclear weapons program.  House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-AL), House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) and House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) sent a letter to several Biden officials saying, “Russia’s state-owned nuclear energy corporation, Rosatom, is helping the People’s Republic of China (PRC) acquire enough weapons grade plutonium to fuel its strategic nuclear breakout.”  Among those receiving the letter are White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen, Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm, Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines.  The letter asks for the briefing no later than April 17, 2023.
