Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has hinted that Turkey may be ready to approve Finland’s application into NATO, apart from neighbor Sweden who applied jointly with Finland after Russia invaded Ukraine.  When asked about by a reporter about approving Finland’s membership, Erdogan said, “We will do our part. We will keep our promise. We will meet with the president on Friday and fulfill the promise we made.” Turkey has been reluctant to approve membership for the two Nordic countries but especially Sweden for being too lenient on groups which Turkey considers to be terrorists.
