Two Russian Su-27 fighter jets have forced down an American MQ-9 “Reaper” drone over the Black Sea in international airspace according to the U.S. European Command. The statement said that the two Russian fighters “conducted an unsafe and unprofessional intercept†and dumped fuel and flew in front of the drone before striking the drone’s propeller which forced the drone down in international waters. The statement also said, “This incident demonstrates a lack of competence in addition to being unsafe and unprofessional.” State Department spokesman Ned Price called it a “brazen violation of international law.â€
