Oklahoma Votes Down Recreational Marijuana

Objectivity 4.6 | Credibility 4.7 | Relevance 4.6

On Tuesday Oklahoma voters rejected the legalization of recreational marijuana after heavy opposition from law enforcement, prosecutors, and faith leaders. The “no” vote was outspent by more than 20-to-1 despite supporters of the initiative spending more than $4.9 million. The Sooner State would have been the 22nd state to legalize recreational marijuana, but instead joined the minority in rejecting the bill with other conservative states like Arkansas, North Dakota and South Dakota.
