Tennessee Governor Bill Lee (R) has signed into law a pair of bills aimed at protecting children. The first law prohibits “adult-oriented” entertainment including “male and female impersonators” from public property and from anyplace where it could be viewed by children. The second and more controversial law, bans puberty blockers, hormone treatments as well gender surgery for minors. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) plans to challenge the bill accusing the governor of discrimination, fearmongering and intimidation. The ACLU statement added, “We want transgender youth to know they are not alone and this fight is not over.â€
