Elon Musk, who recently publicly criticized OpenAI for “training AI to be woke,” is looking to create a “non-woke” rival to ChatGPT.  Although Musk was a founding member of OpenAI, he cut ties in 2015.  Musk tweeted on December 24, 2022, “There is great danger in training AI to lie,” responding to Alex Epstein’s post of an interaction where the bot said it could not “fulfill the request” when asked to write a pro-fossil fuel argument.  In a tweet on February 17, 2023, Musk wrote, “What we need is TruthGPT,” after learning ChatGPT refused to generate a joke in the style of Dave Chappelle.
