Vice President Kamala Harris accused Russia of “crimes against humanity” for invading Ukraine and warned those whom she deems as “complicit” will be held accountable. “In the case of Russia’s actions in Ukraine, we have examined the evidence, we know the legal standards, and there is no doubt, these are crimes against humanity,” she said. Reuters said, however, an accusation of Moscow committing “crimes against humanity,” would imply legal analysis of crimes ranging from rape to murder being widespread, systematic, and intentionally directed against civilians.
