The family of John Kerry quietly sold their Gulfstream G-IV jet last summer about a month after Fox News reported the aircraft had been used for 48 separate trips since Biden took office and appointed Kerry as special presidential climate envoy. Kerry flew round trip to Iceland in 2019 in his private jet to accept a climate leadership award, emitting an estimated 90 tons of carbon. In comparison, a typical passenger vehicle only produces an estimated 4.6 tons of carbon per year, according to the EPA. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) tweeted on February 3, 2021, “John Kerry told pipeline workers whose jobs were destroyed by the Biden Administration to ‘go install solar panels.’ But Kerry can’t sacrifice enough to fly commercial? What a fraud.”
