China imposed trade and investment sanctions on Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, two of the largest defense contractors in the U.S., for selling weapons to Taiwan on Thursday. Lockheed Martin Corp. and Raytheon Technologies Corp.’s Raytheon Missiles and Defense are prohibited from making new investments and selling goods in China, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced. It is unclear what the impact of the sanctions will bring, as the U.S. has already forbidden most sales of weapons technology to China.
