The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under Biden has denied Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s request for assistance after the recent East Palestine train derailment which led to a large release of hazardous chemicals.  FEMA said that the incident in Ohio did not qualify as a traditional disaster, such as a flood or tornado.  A spokesperson for DeWine said that assistance from from the Department of Health and Human Services has been secured to help residents with health care costs associated with the incident.
