Further review of emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop have revealed that Hunter boasted of a “very good relationship” with Max Baucus, who was a senator from Montana when appointed American ambassador to China under Obama. Shortly after Baucus was sworn into office by then VP Joe Biden, Hunter and his Chinese business associates at BHP Partners, a private equity firm controlled by Bank of China, began having meetings with Baucus. Hunter wrote to BHP co-founder Devon Archer, “On Baucus- we have a very very good relationship and I can ask anything we need.” Other emails show how Hunter continued to connect other executives at BHR with Baucus, with one executive complimenting Hunter on being able to “work your magic” on Baucus.
