The 7.8 magnitude earthquake and massive aftershocks that hit Turkey and northern Syria have left survivors desperate as they face the consequences of this massive tragedy. The death toll is now over 35,000 and survivors are facing the devastating losses of loved ones. The estimated financial damage in Turkey alone is $84.1 billion, according to The Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation, a non-governmental business organization. Turkish authorities have provided refuge in shelters on the western side of the nation. One survivor, Musa Bozkurt, wonders, “We’re going away, but we have no idea what will happen when we get there… Even if there was (a plan) what good will it be after this hour?”
