On Saturday an unidentified object over Canada’s Yukon territory was shot down by an American F-22. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted, “I ordered the take down of an unidentified object that violated Canadian airspace. [The North American Aerospace Defense Command] shot down the object over the Yukon. Canadian and U.S. aircraft were scrambled, and a U.S. F-22 successfully fired at the object.” This comes after Global News reported earlier on Saturday that NORAD was monitoring one or two unidentified objects. According to The New York Times, on Thursday at 9 p.m. Alaska time an unknown object was picked up on radar and determined to be a potential danger. On Friday the Pentagon shot down the object along Alaska’s coast, however, no information has been released on its origin or suspected purpose.
