James O’Keefe, founder and chairman of Project Veritas, is currently on paid leave while the board decides if he should be removed from his leadership position at the organization. According to New York Magazine, Project Veritas’ executive director Daniel Strack told the staff through an internal message that O’Keefe is taking “a few weeks of well-deserved PTO.” However, another source told New York Magazine that the board and O’Keefe’s communications advisor seem to be dissatisfied with his management of the company. In a report from the The Daily Beast, Project Veritas employees allege that O’Keefe was “outright cruel” to his staff and that he has wasted money on his theater dream projects.
