The season finale for ‘The Chosen’ topped the movie box office on its February 2 first-day release with $1.67 million. For the weekend, it brought in $3.6 million making it into the top ten at the box office at ninth place. “We didn’t spend anything on marketing, we weren’t anticipating big numbers,” creator Dallas Jenkins said. “We just wanted to quietly make this available on the big screen to our fans for two days. It’s fun to see them not keep it quiet.”
