“Demonic Performance” Called Out by Viewers at The Grammy’s

During the 2023 Grammy’s award ceremony, singers Sam Smith and Kim Petras performed award winning song ‘Unholy’ while wearing horns, surrounded by red lights and a fire backdrop.  The performance was sponsored by Pfizer. Social media influencer Ian Cheong tweeted that Smith “praises Balenciaga” and cites the song’s lyrics. Kim Petras, a transgender who is a biological male, stated, “I think a lot of people, honestly, have kind of labeled what I stand for and what Sam stands for as religiously not cool.”  Many viewers voiced their opinions online that they thought the performance went too far.
