Former President Donald Trump posted on his platform TruthSocial a response to Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on the killing of Ashli Babbitt. Babbitt was shot and killed by a police officer while demonstrating with other patriots at the U. S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. McCarthy answered when asked if Babbitt was murdered that he thought the officer was just doing his job. Trump said, “I totally disagree with the Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy, in that the Police Officer ‘Thug,’ who has had a very checkered past to begin with, was not just ‘doing his job’ when he shot and killed Great Patriot Ashli Babbitt at point blank range.”
