House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), in a press conference on Thursday, called a Republican-led, anti-Socialism resolution as a “fraudulent” one that attempts to “provide cover for extreme MAGA Republicans.” Jeffries also said the resolution would “undermine an agenda that is designed to lift up the health, safety, and well-being of the American people.” However, despite Jeffries’ strong criticism, the resolution passed with Republicans’ unanimous vote added by the support of 126 House Democrats, including Jeffries himself and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
