The Justice Department announced the apprehension of James Gordon Meek, the ABC News producer who reportedly went missing last year. Meek was arrested on charges of transporting child pornography. In April 2022, the FBI conducted a search of Meek’s property, where law enforcement seized evidence of the transportation of images of child sexual abuse. The Justice Department wrote in a statement, “several of Meek’s devices allegedly contained images depicting children engaged in sexually explicit conduct and multiple chat conversations with users engaged in sexually explicit conversations where the participants expressed enthusiasm for the sexual abuse of children.”
