Representative Michael McCaul (R-TX) shared his deliberations on Air Force Gen. Mike Minihan’s warning to his commanders to make plans for war with China in roughly two years. The four-star Air Force General foresees communist China attacking Taiwan in the midst of the United State’s preoccupation with the 2024 presidential elections. McCaul said the Taiwanese elections could be a target in early 2024 for the Chinese government to influence “reunification” with the mainland. If this is unsuccessful and “as long as Biden is in office projecting weakness” the odds are “very high” that China could consider a military invasion.
