A Port Wentworth, Georgia, police officer Jacob Kersey resigned because he was reprimanded after sharing his faith on social media. The Facebook post read, “..there is no such thing as homosexual marriage.” His superior officers told him the post needed to be removed due to complaints. Kersey was called to a meeting with his Maj. Lee Sherrod, where he was placed on administrative leave until the city investigated if he could keep his job. Kersey was told that he could return to his position if he agreed to refrain from posting “offensive” content, but he decided to resign his position.
