Protests were sparked over the weekend across the country denouncing the killing of Tyre Nichols by five Memphis police officers. In the footage of the scene, the officers stopped Nichols and repeatedly beat the young black man. The five police officers, who were also black, were fired and charged with with murder and kidnapping. Demonstrators marched through New York City, Atlanta, Boston, Baltimore, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Portland, among other cities across the nation on Saturday.
